Image Filtering - from MyOwnSite :: Enhancements
Posted by Bill Minton on 01/31/08
If Image Filtering is enabled, all images in Link Previews come through MyOwnSite.

This means your only connection for news feeds and previews is to MyOwnSite. For employers tracking internet usage, it's often better to show visits to a single site than to 10's or 100's simply because you're viewing a few news articles....

Mini-overhaul - from MyOwnSite :: Enhancements
Posted by Bill Minton on 02/02/07
MyOwnSite has undergone what can only be described as a mini-overhaul. From a high level, here's what's been improved/added:

1) Large portions of the code have been cleaned up
It's still not as tidy as I'd like it to be, but a bunch of legacy code has been removed and some of the remaining code has been made more efficient.

Bookmarklet - from MyOwnSite :: Enhancements
Posted by Bill Minton on 01/05/07
A Bookmarklet is now available for adding new Bookmarks to MyOwnSite.

What does it do? It's a Bookmark (Firefox)/Favorite (Internet Explorer) that you can click when you are on a website you'd like to add to your MyOwnSite Bookmarks.

After logging in, near the top left of the screen, you should see some text indicating how to add the bookmarklet to your Bookmarks/Favorites. In Internet Explorer, be sure to add it to your "Links" and make sure your "Links" toolbar is showing at the top of IE.

Email Module - from MyOwnSite :: Enhancements
Posted by Bill Minton on 12/18/06
A new email module has been added to MyOwnSite. Simply fill in the necessary information, and it will add the module to whatever Tab you're currently on. The module refreshes automatically every 5 minutes, so you're never behind on communication. This should be great for checking personal email accounts while at work or away from home.

Currently, only standard POP3/IMAP accounts are supported. Gmail support should arrive soon....

Special thanks to Joud Mansour who contributed a new weather script to MyOwnSite. To see the new weather module, just add a new one to one of your tabs.

The updated module now displays images indicating weather conditions at a glance.

Thanks for the script Joud!...
